"My wife, family and I came to visit for some good old BBQ and overall it was pretty good. Special shout out to Tyler who treated my family and myself so well. As soon as we came in he showed us the smokers and gave us a peek at the meats. He also explained the entire process to us. You could tell he really cares about what he does. Tyler made our experience that much more special! Brisket and turkey were pretty good, juicy and tender. We also ordered half a chicken but found it a tad bland. The Mac and cheese was decent but I would like some sharper cheeses for some added labor/salt as I found it a little bland as well. The cornbread was disappointing and dry. The size of the cornbread was MASSIVE but I’m more of a quality not quantity type of person. Overall I give this spot 4/5 but I will say I’m a tough critic as I live in Florida and have had quite a bit of BBQ. It’s tough to find good BBQ up north and because of that I would definitely come back to visit when I’m in town! Thanks again!"

"Pretty good. The smoked BBQ Chicken Wings were a standout. The brisket was solid. Nice and moist without being too fatty, a sign of a good trim. Dino beef rib was tasty like the brisket. Pork ribs were a little dry to be honest but nice flavor. Bacon had a nice flavor. Poutine was pretty good with a solid gravy. The sides could use some work to be honest. The mac recipe needs some work. Pretty good over all, but a little on the dry side overall. My biggest problem is that they have smoked sausage prominently featured on the menu, as an entree and in several other dish descriptions. They were out of it. The second weekend in a row they were out of it in fact. I figured at open they would definitely have it heading into a weekend, but was left disappointed. Just sort of a bad business to have something so prominent and not have it in stock. Also, this might be the only BBQ joint to not have burnt ends, a dish that is usually a crowd pleasing favorite. Seems like some missed opportunities here. Really good smoke work overall though, perhaps that’s why it tended to run a little dry, but it really had a nice smoky flavor. Not a lot of good BBQ in the area, so I’m sure they are doing just fine. A little pricey, but that usually pairs with good BBQ, so you know that going in. Really nice sauces between the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and a light grainy and sweet mustard sauce. A little out of the beaten path, but worth trying out."

"Brisket fresh a juicy, Cornbread amazing no extra butter needed, Mac creamy and flavorful, pork belly crackling way good, fried green tomatoes do t think you can fi d a better one this far north, Wings naked amazing with the The citrus bourbon teriyaki really good too, theor house made peach perfect perfectly sweet great flavor l, the mouse made cheddar & jalapeno sausage super good, the jar of bacon taste just like pork from pork froed roce so yeah thays was awesome too but the show stopper was the Banana Bourbon Cream Pie! Now we had no wait as we got there as doors open , there was a line forming about 20 mins before doors open, and I can tell you the line to wait never got shorter as service went on and tables were turned over they stay busy from what we saw from open to close especially on a beautiful day like the day we had. So just beware of that as I marked no wait because it was based off of experience."

"Hoodoo Brown BBQ is hands down one of the best spots around for authentic Texas style barbecue. Every time I go, the food never disappoints. In my opinion, some of the best items on the menu are the jalapeño sausage, brisket, cornbread, and Brussels sprouts. Everything is packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The brisket is tender and smoky, and the jalapeño sausage has just the right amount of heat. The cornbread is a must try, it is soft, slightly sweet, and pairs perfectly with everything on the plate. We also ordered the Texas Trinity, which was great for three people and a perfect way to try a variety of meats. The portions were generous and ideal for sharing. We added wings as well, and they were delicious and full of flavor. I had the sweet lemonade, which was refreshing and a great complement to the meal. The service was also excellent. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Overall, Hoodoo Brown is a great spot if you are looking for authentic Texas style BBQ, great portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend it."

"Brisket is melt in your mouth tender and flavorful. Pork ribs were awesome. Pork belly, not bad. Unfortunately they ran out of pulled pork. Sides are underwhelming. Mac & cheese was ok. Cornbread was dry. Banana cream pie was really good."
